I am a graduate of Williams College (B.A. in religion ’89) and the University of Chicago Divinity School (M. Div ’97). I have served for over 20 years as an Episcopal priest in both urban and rural parishes as well as for nine years as a university chaplain at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
I completed my Ph.D dissertation at Syracuse University in 2013 in philosophy of religion and spirituality. I have over ten years of training in spiritual direction and a keen interest in the principles and practices of Ignatian spirituality and contemplative prayer.
I am an avid walker, errant photographer, and lover of twangy folk music.
I resigned from my two pastoral positions at Church of the Epiphany Trumansburg and The Episcopal Church at Cornell in the spring of 2018 in order to follow my wife Sarah’s call to First Christian Church in Wadsworth, Ohio where she will be senior pastor.
I am currently serving as a chaplain at an addiction recovery center in Akron, Ohio, the historic home of Alcoholics Anonymous.
